Reading is an active process which consists of recognition and comprehension skill. The problem formulation of this research are: (1) Is there any difference influence of using CIRC and STAD techniques toward students' reading comprehension in Report Text at the Eleventh Grade of SMA N 1 Labuhan Ratu in Academic Year 2014/2015? (2) Which one is more influence between CIRC and STAD techniques toward students' reading comprehension in Report Text at the Eleventh Grade of SMA N 1 Labuhan Ratu in Academic Year 2014/2015? The objectives of this research are: (1) To know whether there is any difference influence of using CIRC and STAD techniques toward students' reading comprehension in Report Text at the Eleventh Grade of SMA N 1 Labuhan Ratu in Academic Year 2014/2015? (2) To find out which one is more influence between using CIRC and STAD techniques toward students' reading comprehension in Report Text at the Eleventh Grade of SMA N 1 Labuhan Ratu in Academic Year 2014/2015?
This researcher used Quantitative research in term of true experimental design. The researcher applied pre-test and post-test control group. The population of this research is students at the eleventh grade of SMA Nl Labuhan Ratu in academic year 2014/2015. In this research, the researcher takes two classes take in the eleventh grade students of SMAN 1 Labuhan Ratu as the sample. To determine the sample, the researcher use cluster stratified random sampling technique. The data collecting techique used in this research are try out, pre test and post test. The researcher used normality, homogeneity and hypothesis test to analyze the data.
The result showed that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The hypothesis can be accepted because 'count 's 2,83 and ttable is 2,66 at significance level 0,01 and ttable is 2,00 at significance level 0,05. It means that there is significant difference of influence between CIRC and STAD technique toward students' reading comprehension at the Eleventh Grade of SMA N 1 Labuhan Ratu. Then CIRC technique is more influence than STAD technique toward students' reading comprehension at the Eleventh Grade of SMA N 1 Labuhan Ratu.
