Increasing student's reading ability in learning narrative text through jigsaw technique at the eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Pekalongan academic year 2013/2014

Reading is a process to take the information based on the text such as written text, picture or diagram form or from that's all combination . this is condition occurs in SMAN 1 Pekalongan. The meaning is that, the students' reading ability is still low. Narrative text is kind of text that tell about the story in the past time. It also deals with problematic events which lead to a crisis or turning points of some kind., which in turn find a resolution. There are two main problem formulation in this study. 1) How can jigsaw technique motivate the students'ability in narrative texts of eleven grade students of SMAN 1 Pekalongan? 2). Can jigsaw technique increase the students in narrative text for reading in eleven grade of SMAN 1 Pekalongan?. There are two objectives of this study, is to know whether Jigsaw technique can motivate the students' ability and increase the students in narrative text of SMAN 1 Pekalongan.
In this research, the researcher uses Narrative text to know students' responding and students' reading ability of narrative. The research is conducted at eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Pekalongan academic year 2013/2014. The class observation in this research is 30 students. The researcher take the class that many problem about the students and the score.
In this research, the researcher use two cycles to collect and use (X pre) and {X post) to analyze data. The researcher got the result of students' reading ability score increasing, the first average score of students is 63 then increasing become 75 and the last is 90. Beside that the students' motivate in reading ability is increasing. The students's activities is from 73% then increase become 93%. It is mean that Jigsaw Technique can increase the students' reading ability on narrative text and the students learning activeness of SMAN 1 Pekalongan- The suggestions are to increase students' reading ability especially in narrative text, the teacher use Jigsaw technique in reading ability learning.
