MATH for Junior High School has been compiled in compliance with the Standar Isi 2006 for use in Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) and Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs). It is intended to provide students with guides and tricks to learn math in an easy, comprehensive, and structured way.
This book is presented in a style which encourages conceptual understanding, and emphasizes the following important aspects in learning math.
1. Recognizing facts, understanding concepts, deriving formulas,
and proving theorems.
2. Applying concepts, theorems, and formulas; this is exemplified
in worked problems.
3. Working out structured problems, i.e., those which are given
in increasing difficulty, and problems which require problem
solving skill.
Each chapter provides Student's Activity which invites students to get the experience of inventing certain mathematical concepts or properties on their own. Each chapter also provides Student's Task, through which students apply mathematical concepts (Contextual Teaching Learning and Problem Solving).
