Writing is one of the means of communication in the written form. Through writing, the students can express their ideas, experiences, interests systematically and writing. In the research, the researcher uses writing descriptive text as one of variables on the research. In writing descriptive text, the students are expected to be able to describe a particular thing, person, place well. However, teachers often find students who have low motivation in learning English especially writing descriptive text. Most of the students do not pay attention with the lesson, they are lazy to learn. The problem formulations are (1) Is there any correlation of students' motivation in learning English and students' achievement in writing descriptive text? (2) Is there any positive and significant students' motivation in learning English and students' achievement in writing descriptive text? The research objectives are (1) to know whether there is correlation of students' motivation in learning English and students' achievement in writing descriptive text (2) to know whether there is positive and significant correlation between the students' motivation in learning English and students' achievement in writing descriptive text.
The research is coonducted on March 9th 2015 in in MA Daarul Ma'arif Natar.. The research design in this research is correlation. The researcher does not give treatment to the students. The researcher used students' motivation questionaire and writing descriptive test. The sample 18 students in the first grade. The researcher gets the sample by using cluster random sampling.
Based on the research result, it is obtained rObserved= 0,88. The correlation between students' motivation in learning English and students' achievement in writing descriptive text in academic year 2014/2015 is positive and significant. It is proven by the result of significance test. It is obtained that tobserved is 10,16. The value t is compared with t table for the significant level 5% to two tails dk = n-2 = 16, so t table is 2,120 . It is clear that t observed is higher than t table. It means that Ha is accepted. It means that there is positive and significant correlation between Students' Motivation in Learning English and Students' Achievement in Writing Descriptive Text of The First Grade of MA Darul Ma'arif Academic Year 2014/2015.
