The influence of using flashcards toward writing ability on descriptive text at the students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Metro in academic year 2014-2015
Writing is one skill of English that the students can explore their known and
ability or experience based on the media and used to communicate with others.
Writing skill that enables an individual to write grammatically, lucidly, and
coherently or to handwrite legibly with ease and speed of each students. The main
problem that makes the students do not like English writing is uninteresting
media. The media which is a solution in writing ability to make descriptive text is
using Flashcard. The problem formulations in this research is; Is there any
signi?cant in?uence of using ?ashcard toward writing ability? .The objective of
research is to know whether there is any signi?cant in?uence of using ?ashcard
toward Writing ability.
The method of investigation is held through quantitative research which uses
quasi experiment research. The design of this research is control group pretest
post test design. The research was conducted at the eight grade of SMP
Muhammadiyah 01 Metro Academic Year 2014/2015. The population of this
research is the whole students At SMP Muhammadiyah 01 Metro Academic Year
2014/2015 that consist of 441 students which are devided into ?ve classes. The
researcher takes 62 students from total population as the sample which consists of
31 students each experiment class and control class. In taking sample the
researcher used the cluster random sampling technique. The instrument of this
research is test using written test. In collecting the data the researcher used test,
namely pretest, treatment, and posttest, and writing ability test for analyzing the
data, the researcher use ties
