An analysis of error in translating Indonesian in to english sentences in term of simple sentence at the students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Metro in academic year 2014-2015

The objective of the research are to know the causes of the students error in
translating Indonesian into English sentences in term of simple sentence and to
analyze and identify the type of errors often made by the students in their
translating sentences based on surface strategy taxonomy.
This research is qualitative research. The population of the research are the
students at seventh grade in SMP Muhmninadiyah 1 Metro in academic year
2014/2015. The technique sampling of the research is ckuster random sampling.
There are ?ve classes as the population of the research. This research takes one
class as the sample. Theresearcher takes writing data from the teacher and gives
the students questioner to get further information.
The writing data ?om English teacher is analyzed to know the error that have
been made by the students based on surface strategy taxonomy. The questionnaire
data is to know the di?culties and the reason of the error by the students.
