this book discusses the contemporary state of water management in Latin America and the Caribbean within the context of how policies and institutions from different countries of the region originated and developed. Particular emphasis is placed on the economic significnce of water-related innovations. Using four case studies drawn from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Peru, the author examines the major issues currently confronting water management practice and some potential solutions that have been and could be adopted to improve management performance.
