Selected Indonesian Medicinal Plants: Monographs And Depcriptions
As we have entered the third milennium based on the Gregorian calender, it is an exciting time to promote the science of medicinal plants. Certainly, compared to the time of Ehrlich or before, we have made great strides in understanding the etiology of human disease. And while there is still a long way to go in terms of fully defining the molecular basis of widespread scourges such as cancer, we have at least established valid working hypotheses that form a firm foundations for future progrss. Baed on this, we are well positioned to make rapid progress with medicinal plants, in the context of setting priorities, determining biological activity and efficacy in a scientifically valid manner, and exploring active principles of methods of standardization for the benefit of all mankind.
