This textbook for a one-semester couse gives a concise but thorough treatment of those integral equations that arise most frequently in applications. The book is intended for advanced under graduates and beginning graduate students in the mathematical sciences. The presentation is mainly in terms of concrete elementary examples, but proofs are provided for all of the main theorems that are used implicitly n practical problems. the first third of the book is on fredholm theory, hilbert-schmidt theory, and the theory of volterra equations.

Convolution equations and their solution by the use of one and two sided laplace transforms are covered in the second part of the book. this part includes material on linear input putput relations and on smoothing operators that is not readily available elsewhere.

A short introduction to the wiener hpf method is included. the last part of the book deals with cauchy principal value integrals and the anlytic continuation methods that are used in solving equatins that invo
