Speaking 1 develops oral fluency by focusing on topics that are personally relevant to students. The activities enable students to draw on their own life experience, feelings and cultural knowledge and develop their ability to express their ideas confidently and fluently, even with pre-intermediate language skills.

The accompanying cassette contains a variety of listening material, which acts as a stimulus for of follow up to the speaking activities. it includes musics, songs and examples of native speakers of English performing the tasks.
